A booking sent on this site is a request for an appointment: you choose the kind of session, the day and the time, and give your contact details. I confirm the request by email within 24 hours and send a detailed quote. The booking becomes final once you accept the quote.

I review every frame, and you receive every successful picture, carefully edited. The finished high-resolution digital images are delivered online in a Google Drive folder: within 7 days for portraits, within 2 weeks for events and weddings. Please save the images once you receive them.

The photographer holds the copyright in the images (Hungarian Act LXXVI of 1999). You may use the delivered images without limit for private purposes — your own and your family’s, including your social media. Business, advertising or other commercial use needs a separate agreement. Please do not alter the images in a way that changes the work (heavy filters, for example), and credit the photographer when you publish them, where you can.

I show a few pictures from your session as references on this site and on my social media only if you give your separate permission — with its own, optional box when you book, or later by email. You get exactly the same service without it. You can withdraw the permission at any time with one email: after that no new picture is published, and those already shown are removed from this site within 30 days. Pictures of minors are never shown as references.

I work with care and bring spare equipment. If the pictures cannot be made because of a technical failure, I offer a new session free of charge or refund the session fee; beyond that my liability is limited to the fee paid, except for intentional or grossly negligent harm.

Send any complaint to info@arvaiphotography.hu; I reply in writing within 30 days. If we cannot agree, as a consumer you may turn to the Budapest Conciliation Board (www.bekeltet.hu). The contract is governed by Hungarian law.

The controller is József Árvai, photographer (info@arvaiphotography.hu). I handle your personal data under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Your name, email address, phone number (if you give it), your message, the time you booked and what you agreed to when booking: the version of the terms you accepted and the reference permission, with when you gave them.

Handling the booking, keeping in touch and performing the contract (GDPR Article 6(1)(b)); invoicing and bookkeeping as the law requires ((c)); reference pictures on the basis of your consent ((a)).

Booking details for 5 years after the service (the general limitation period), accounting records for 8 years; anything held on your consent until you withdraw it.

Besides me, only the site’s hosting provider (Amazon Web Services, Frankfurt, EU) and my email provider, as processors. Your data is never sold or used for advertising.

You may ask for access, correction, erasure, restriction, portability, object, and withdraw your consent at any time — one email is enough. You can complain to the Hungarian data protection authority, NAIH (1055 Budapest, Falk Miksa utca 9–11, www.naih.hu).

Cookies and stored data the site needs to work always run: they remember, for example, your language and the choice you made about cookies. They do not track you and are not shared with anyone.

Google Analytics starts only if you allow it on the cookie bar or with the “Cookie settings” button below. Google then measures the visit with an anonymised IP address, and your browser keeps its measuring cookies (_ga) for up to 2 years.

The “Cookie settings” button lets you decide again at any time; once you withdraw your consent, measurement stops.
